Chamber Music (M.Mus.)

Options:

  • Pianoforte (for pianists not belonging to a fixed ensemble)
  • Ensemble (piano trio, piano quartet and string quartet)
  • Lied interpretation (for singers, pianists or fixed duets)

Course leading to the degree of Master of Music
Regular course length: 4 semesters

The Master’s degree course in “Chamber Music” has been introduced at the HMTMH in the Winter Semester 2009/2010 as the first Master’s degree course for instrumental performers.

Course content and objective
This course is designed to meet the future requirements of professional chamber musicians and chamber music ensembles.

The content includes, among other things:
- individual tuition in the principal instrumental subject / voice
- free choice of introductory courses in voice, string and wind instrument tuition for pianists
- piano playing for singers
- conducting
- tuition on historical keyboard instruments
- contemporary instrumental and vocal techniques
- introductions to management and marketing
- concert with discussion
- the making of a one-hour CD
