Language and Integration

In order to study in Germany you need to fulfill the German language requirements. At the HMTMH classes are taught in German and for you to be able to follow you need good language skills.

However, the German laguage not only is important for your studies. Even if many Germans are able to speak English very well it is useful to get along in German outside the school. Moreover, you will be able to communicate much quicker with people in general and learn more about the German every day life. You do not need to be a fluent speaker. Please do not be shy and try to use the skills you already have!

Is the German language difficult?

The German language has the reputation that it is difficult to learn. Even for Germans! It consists of many details, however, which are not so important at the beginning. Even if you are insecure about your German, talk! The Interantional Office offers many opportunities for you to practice either during the language course or the activities.

How difficult it is even for famous people to learn and understand the German grammar you may read in this text by Mark Twain. Furthermore, we have created a little emergency kit for you.
