Raphael D. Thöne, born in Moers. Degree in composition from the Robert Schumann University of Music (Prof. Manfred Trojahn) and degree in music theory from the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen (Prof. Dr. Dieter Torkewitz). Scholarship holder at Berklee College of Music, Boston, and Boston Conservatory (USA) in the subjects of film scoring/composition and conducting. Doctorate from the University of Music and Performing Arts and the University of Vienna with a thesis on the symphonic works of Malcolm Arnold.
2016 German Audio Book Prize as composer in the category "Best Radio Play" (“Wir”), 2021 Lower Saxony Science Prize in the category “Teaching Prize”.
