Action Day against Abuse of Power

UNIVERSITY-WIDE INVITATION

The Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media is hosting

on Thursday, 27 November 2025
at 10:00 a.m.,

a university-wide Action Day against Abuse of Power.

The event is open to all students, teachers, and staff at HMTMH. It is part of a nationwide day of action organised by the German music universities under the German title ‘Kunst. Macht. Menschlichkeit’.

10:00 to 12:00: Hörsaal 202, Neues Haus 1

To kick things off, initial findings from the anonymous survey which was conducted at HMTMH over the past few weeks on the topic of abuse of power will be presented and linked to scientific perspectives on power structures.

The topic will then be explored in greater depth in panel discussions with external experts and representatives from the university. Participants in the hall are invited to actively contribute and share their thoughts. Artistic contributions from the HMTMH will open up additional perspectives.

From 12 noon: Foyer, Neues Haus 1

Following the discussions in Hörsaal 202, the conversations can be continued at various information stands in the foyer. From around 1.30 p.m., further artistic contributions can be experienced there. The AStA will provide a café bar.

Dies academicus

The Presidium has decided that teaching at HMTMH may be suspended for the day of action to enable all members of the university to participate. If classes are offered, students shall not be disadvantaged by their absence due to participation in the day of action.

As soon as the programme for the day of action has been finalised, it will be published here.
